This state-of-the-art Satellite Cart System is a semi-automated, high-density storage and retrieval system for palletised goods. The Cart operates by moving up and down storage lanes on rails, to load, move and unload pallets.
The Satellite Cart is able to function in a number of different modes, controlled by the multi-cart controller. These modes include:
Continuous Load Mode: the cart will move pallets into furthest available position for storage.
Continuous Unload Mode: the cart retrieves pallets from the storage lane and transports them to the front of the lane, ready for collection by forklift.
Compacting Mode: the cart can move pallets to the next available position to condense the storage space or make pallets more accessible as needed.
FIFO Mode: pallets that are placed in the storage lane first, will be the first to be retrieved by the cart.
LIFO Mode: pallets that are placed in the storage lane last, will be the first to be retrieved by the cart.
Inventory Counting Mode: the cart can count the number and identify the positions of pallets in a lane and communicate data directly to WMS.
The various modes of the Satellite Cart allows for greater flexibility and selectivity and ensures denser storage and space-efficiency, while also increasing the productivity of forklift drivers, as they can perform other tasks while the cart is shuffling pallets into place.
The Satellite Cart Storage Solution is the ideal solution for any application where high storage density of high volume SKUs is a must, and is particularly beneficial in chilled environments, such as freezers. The Satellite Cart solution is also ideal for buffering stock at shipping docks, prior to loading up trucks for delivery.
